Severe weather will be possible this afternoon and evening for the Carolina's and Virginia. The main threats today will be damaging winds and hail. The possibility of an isolated tornado can't be ruled out, but the tornado threat for this afternoon will be low. The main areas that will see severe weather will be central and western North Carolina and Virginia. The storms will begin firing up around early to mid afternoon and will likely last into the evening. The threat level today from the NWS is "Slight", which means that the threat will be slightly above normal.
