There is currently a tropical low off the coast of the Carolina's and it is creating some dangerous conditions for mariners and beachgoers. Our Ocean Map currently shows 3 foot seas off the coasts of North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. This system is not expected to develop into a tropical storm, but it will be a major rain maker for the eastern coast for the next couple of days as it moves on shore. Some localized flooding and dangerous seas could be likely with this system. During the course of the weekend areas can expect to see 2-4 inches with some localized areas getting as much as 6 inches of rain over the coming days. These storms associated with this low should not be severe in the form of thunderstorms, tornadoes and hail. The main threats with this system will be localized flooding and heavy seas. We will post any updates as needed and be sure to familiarize yourself with our website here as we offer a ton of great free resources for tracking all types of severe weather.
