Tropical Storm Fred has just moved off the African coast and is expected to strengthen over the next 5 days. At this time it is to far away to know if this will be a threat to the United States, but the current models are looking like that is a highly unlikely scenario. The current steering patterns will likely send this storm out into the northern Atlantic where it will be torn apart by wind shear. We will continue to monitor this storm as the week goes on, but this will not be an immediate threat to the United States. As for the rest of the Atlantic there isn't any tropical waves expected to develop in the next 5 days. The remains of Tropical Storm Erika are now just a cluster of storms in the Gulf.
